Saint Anthony Wrestlers Still Going Strong!
The High School season for wrestling has ended but many wrestlers are still taking part in wrestling by participating in the USA Wrestling League. We are proud that two of the St. Anthony members of the SLP/STA varsity wrestling team have made some amazing accomplishments during this extended part of the wrestling season.
Wrestlers William Baker (9th grade) placed 2nd and Tyler Chapple (9th grade) placed 5th at the 2008 USA Minnesota Folkstyle State Championship Tournament. Both of these wrestlers went on to compete at the 2008 USA Folkstyle National Tournament that was held in Iowa where both wrestlers had some success. The wrestling season continues into the spring with upcoming USA Wrestling Minnesota State Tournaments for Freestyle and Greco styles of wrestling. Congratulations to both and good luck to our wrestlers for the rest of the wrestling season!
