Wilshire Park students and staff, in partnership with Wilshire Park Parents Association, exceeded their original food drive goal by over 1700 pounds. When the truck from Second Harvest Heartland arrived at Wilshire Park on December 21st, Mrs. Andrea Wyatt’s third grade class helped load the donated food. Mrs. Wyatt’s third-grade classroom was the top collector with a total of 481 food items. In addition to the food, a cash donation of $361 was also given to Second Harvest Heartland. For every $1 donated, Second Harvest Heartland can distribute $9 of nutritious food and groceries to hungry children, seniors and working families in our community. Second Harvest Heartland works with more than 960 local food shelves, programs and shelters.
