SANBE Overview

Foundation

The St. Anthony - New Brighton Education Foundation (SANBE) was organized in 1990 as an attempt to affect the quality of education and achievement within ISD#282. The community has responded and donated graciously to the foundation. Each year we see an increase in donations and grants provided to the district. SANBE's fifteen-member board is responsible for resource acquisition and allocation. Each board member may serve no longer than two consecutive three-year terms. As a result of this limitation, the board undergoes frequent change, bringing with it new ideas and direction.

Grant Program

The Two - Tier grant program adopted by the foundation includes the Basic Grant and the Excel Grant, each intended to fulfill a specific purpose.

Basic

This grant is intended to fulfill staff needs related to a specific discipline or interdisciplinary project, which is not fundable from any other resource. The Basic grant has a maximum value of $750. Please note the funding periods on the SANBE Grant Proposal form. Applicants must fully complete the form and forward it to their respective Program Manager for their signature to be reviewed by SANBE.

Excel

This grant is intended to promote ideas that are innovative and unique. The Board seeks to encourage competition among the staff and stimulate thought, perhaps setting a new direction for a given program. The Excel grant has a maximum value of $2500. The Board will evaluate this type of request in October and May. Please note the application deadlines on the grant proposal form. Applicants must fully complete the SANBE Grant Proposal form and forward it to their respective Program Manager for their signature. Applicants for Excel Grants may be asked to present their proposal to the SANBE Board.
