SAVHS Junior Lydia Chung

Lydia Chung, a senior at St. Anthony Village High School (SAVHS) has been named a semifinalist in the 2021 National Merit Scholarship Program. 

Lydia Chung, a senior at St. Anthony Village High School (SAVHS) has been named a semifinalist in the 2021 National Merit Scholarship Program. 

Approximately 16,000 students from across the U.S. have been selected as semifinalists and will compete for around 7,500 scholarships. There are a total of three types of scholarships that will be awarded in the spring 2022.

"Lydia is a hardworking student that has excelled at SAVHS. She is always challenging herself and is well deserving of this recognition," said Interim-Principal Andrew Hodges.

According to the program, semifinalists must have an outstanding academic record throughout their high school career; be endorsed and recommended by a high school official; write an essay; and have an SAT or ACT score that confirms their earlier performance on the qualifying test.

National Merit Scholarship finalists will need to submit details about their academic record, their school and community activities, leadership skills, and more.
