Dear St. Anthony Middle School Families,

I know during these challenging times you are anticipating important information l about the 2020-21 school year. Thank you for your patience as we provide you with updates. The most important priority we have at SAMS is the health and safety of our students and staff.

Based on the number of COVID-19 cases in Hennepin and Ramsey counties, we have three options for how we will begin this fall. All of our models rely on a new and improved model of distance learning. We learned a great deal last spring during emergency Distance Learning, and we have incorporated positive updates for 2020-21. The following models us to move fluidly from one to another if the data requires us to:

Distance Learning: all content will be delivered through a distance learning platform, and a balance of synchronous and asynchronous learning opportunities will be available.

Modified Hybrid Learning: all content will be delivered through a distance learning platform and students will have the opportunity to come to school, just not at the same frequency and with even less contact with others.

Full Hybrid Learning: all content will be delivered through a distance learning platform and students will have the opportunity to come to school for a shortened day, two days a week.

On-Site Learning: all students and staff learning together back in school.

IMPORTANT- Parents/guardians: please complete this Google Form for every student that you have attending St. Anthony Middle School. If you have other children that attend elementary or high school in our district, each of our schools will be sending out their own Google Form. It’s crucial for our planning purposes that families fill out a Google Form specific to every child and the school that they attend.

On Aug. 18, the St. Anthony-New Brighton School Board will make a final decision on how our schools will begin the school year this fall. More information will be coming out at a later date We will also include an opportunity for families to sign their students up for electives, receive updates on Camp Huskie for sixth graders, and important technology updates. Please note, at this time, there are no formal school supplies needed. Know that we will stay in touch. We miss you and your children very much and wish you all the best in these last weeks of summer.

Thanks,
