Teaching & Learning

What is Teaching and Learning?

Teaching and learning at the St. Anthony-New Brighton School District is grounded in the ultimate goal of success for each student. Through rigorous and relevant curriculum and instruction, students are challenged to use high-level thinking and reasoning skills, make connections and meaning between their past and new learning, and apply their learning in meaningful ways.

We nurture the brilliance of each student and staff member

We are proud to offer numerous staff development opportunities that enhance and inspire staff as we move towards a proficiency-based grading model. Staff members attend professional development sessions that explore topics around social-emotional learning, literacy, trends in classroom management and more.
By 2025, we will move to proficiency-based learning and grading, which is a system where students receive feedback and scores based on how well they can meet the specific goals or standards of a class.
