SAVHS students attend state-wide conference
Minnesota Students Come Together to Make a Difference
Student leaders from throughout the Minnesota State High School League’s (MSHSL) member schools convened in a statewide conference on Friday, Jan., 13 to lend strong voices to the continuing efforts to ensure a safe environment for all students in which to learn and participate in all activities. The “Together We Make A Difference,” initiative was held at Park Center High School in Brooklyn Park and drew more than 750 student leaders from 75 member schools, that all proclaimed in unison the importance of having safe and supportive school environments.
One of our SAVHS students, Naomi Teshome expressed her excitement about attending, while highlighting their school's need to participate in more events like these. She, in addition to Deshon Brocks, Alayna Peterson, Gabriel Shenoy, Naomi Teshome, Julius Mims and Audrey MacPherson attended the event.

"My overall experience at the conference was very informative and influential. A highlight for me was the student performances, a lot of the time at events like these student tend to talk about our struggles as young people and although we leave with a new lens on life and more specifically high school, it was really refreshing to connect with people we didn't even know personally through culture, tradition, music, etc. It was unifying, and definitely something St.Anthony should always be involved in moving forward!" said Naomi.
