Welcome Amal Younis, new assistant principal at Wilshire Park Elementary

We are excited to announce that Amal Younis is our new assistant principal at Wilshire Park beginning on July 1, 2024. Amal brings with her both building and district level leadership experience, along with classroom teaching experience. Most recently she has served as a dean of students in the Eden Prairie school district. In this role she served on multiple leadership teams, conducted observations and performance evaluations for certified staff, assisted in the development and implementation of Individual Learning Plans for students, and provided support to students and families at Central Middle School in Eden Prairie.

She is highly skilled in conflict management and restorative practices for discipline. In addition to her experience she has a Bachelors of Arts in English from Concordia University-Saint Paul, A Master’s degree in English Education, and an Educational Specialist Degree with K-12 Principal Licensure from Concordia University-Saint Paul.  

She brings with her a passion for helping all students succeed. She believes joy is an important part of learning, and that each individual educator in the school setting is integral to the success of our students. She is a firm believer in the power of partnership between school and families and leads with a collaborative mindset. In her words, “multiple perspectives help us to create the most meaningful learning opportunities for students.”

When not at work, Amal enjoys spending time with family and traveling to explore new cities and countries. She is excited to be joining the Wilshire Park Elementary community!
